Mariam Jabara is a Masters student at McGill University studying the applications of Artificial Intelligence to Cardiology, and is passionate about the ways that technology will change the future of healthcare. Prior to this, she studied Biomedical Science with a minor in Computer Science at the University of Ottawa. Her journey in tech began in 2017. While working part-time at Apple, she witnessed the impact technology had on a consumer level, and was especially moved by the freedom of creativity and expression it afforded its users. After taking an introductory course in Python, she was sold and decided to pursue the field and explore how she could blend her background in Biomedical Science with Computer Science. Moving forward, she interned companies such as at Morgan Stanley and Deloitte, and worked on research projects in the fields of computational neuroscience and digital signal processing. Her journey has inspired her to make knowledge of programming and technology as a whole more accessible, and the field itself more diverse and inclusive.
